26th ISST Congress – Additional discount

Additional discount for the 2023 ISST Congress in Israel offered to the groups bringing their own translator

Live Participation:

Any group can bring their own translator who will be able to participate in the congress as a “accompanying member.”* The group can sit together and enjoy live translation, preferably with earphones. The translator can accompany the group throughout the activities of the Congress attended by the group. The audio-recording of the translation could be arranged by the group, with the permission from the Congress committee and used later with the viewings of the video-recording of the Congress.

* The “accompanying member” is paying only for room and board plus an additional fee of $280 covering lunch & refreshments (X 4 days) & opening cocktail .

Online: Groups

Following the request from one of the Member Societies regarding their members who will be online the Congress Committee offers a discount to groups who need a foreign language interpreter on zoom. Zoom allows for connection to a translator with a large choice of languages, but with the restriction that only one camera per day can be linked to any particular zoom translator. The participants and the translator will have to participate live (in real time) and can also view the recording later (within the limited time). The translator can accompany the group throughout the activities of the Congress attended by the group that are occurring in the same hall. The audio-recording of the translation could be arranged by the translator with the permission from the Congress committee and used later with the viewings of the video-recording of the Congress. Please note this important zoom restriction:  the translation will be technically possible in one conference room per day only.

Broadcasting the 26th congress on Zoom, will enable groups of participants to hire interpreters to translate the lectures in real time to foreign languages. The video-recording of the Congress presentations will be available for one month after the end of the Congress. The translation (if made during the attendance) will be available at the discretion of the group hiring the translator who made the recording.

Since hiring an interpreter will be an additional expense for the participants who need it, and we would like to encourage you to participate online, we offer participants a reduced registration fee – to offset the expense of the translator – according to the number of participants in a group.

ISST offers the following discounted registration fees to the groups bringing their own translator:

4 -10 people — 550USD (3.5%);

10 – 17 — 530USD (7%);

17 – 25 — 510USD (10.5%).

25 – and more —490USD (14%)

We are asking all Board members to distribute that offer to Member Societies respective members who would benefit from participating in the Congress with a translation to their native language.  

We ask the Representative on the ISST Board to contact the organizing committee if such a group forms in your country.
